Things to See in Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula

Frankston is the gateway to the Mornington Peninsula. The Frankston Pier, surrounded by landscaped gardens, fronting the wide waterway of Kananook Creek and the Landmark footbridge on the coast, is an ideal vantage point from which to enjoy the area. An elevated boardwalk extends along the foreshore from the pier down to the boat ramp at the base of Olivers Hill. Views across Port Phillip Bay and north along the coastal suburbs can be enjoyed from Olivers Hill.

Frankston has a number of attractive parks and gardens including Beauty Park with its lake and jetties, the George Pentland Botanical Gardens, Ballam Park which features barbeque areas, sporting ovals and a historic homestead, and the Pines Flora and Fauna reserve in Frankston North.

The Mornington Peninsula is also a unique maritime wine region, producing quality cool climate wines and every year there is a Harvest to Table Festival celebrating the food and wine of the region. Sail the Westernport Bay, go fishing, swimming, rock climbing, stroll around the many art galleries, shops and gardens, wine and dine and enjoy the lively night life at clubs and pubs.
