Halfway Motel - Eden

The Halfway Motel offers clean and affordable accommodation in 30 self contained units, all equipped with reverse cycle air conditioning and all non smoking. Facilities include a solar heated saltwater pool and spa, BBQ area and ample off street parking for guest's motor vehicles and boats.

Ideally located, half way between Sydney and Melbourne and just 3 hours drive from Canberra, Latrobe Valley, Victoria. The Halfway Motel at Eden is the perfect stop for the traveller. We are close to shops, clubs, museums and beaches all within 5 minutes walk. The Eden Tourist Information Centre and the interstate coach station are just across the road. Groups and Coach Companies are always welcome.

Things to See and Do in Eden

Eden offers a restful backdrop to enjoy year-round holidays with surfing, swimming, sailing, fishing, hiking, tennis, squash, golf and bowls.

We are historically known as Australia's first and most successful whaling town. Today the whales play a different role, as people flock from far and wide to see these magnificent creatures migrating up and down our beautiful coastline from late August to November, incorporating the towns famous Whale Festival in November.

Eden is the fishing fleets home port and it's always interesting to visit to see the catch unloaded. There are also regular day visits by International Cruise Ships through the year.

You can also enjoy a discovery cruise on the Bay, weekday coach tours, the Killer Whale Museum, whale watching packages, fishing trips, 4WD tours or a visit to one of the many art galleries in the region.

Finding Us

Eden is situated on the shores of Twofold Bay, on the sapphire coast of New South Wales, halfway between Melbourne and Sydney. The Halfway Motel is centrally located at the only roundabout on the Princes highway in the centre of town.

Travel by Rex Airlines to Merimbula from Sydney and Melbourne daily. Premier Coaches run a daily coach service from Melbourne and Sydney and a rail coach from Canberra and of course by private vehicle.
