The Parklane Motel is an easy walk to all of Launceston’s most popular attractions including many delightful cafes, galleries, restaurants, sporting and swimming venues and nature walks.

Take a pleasant drive through the gentle rolling hills of the Tamar Valley where you'll find excellent wines and foods to sample. Located in the Piper's River region of NE Tasmania, you will find Clover Hill, a dedicated sparkling wine estate planted solely for traditional sparkling Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Alternatively you may prefer to sample Tasmania's famous beer at the J. Boag & Son Brewery during one of its popular weekday tours.

The Hillwood Strawberry Farm is a must and only 20 minutes from Launceston. It is open all year round and during the warmer months you can pick your own berries and with a gourmet cheese factory next door your taste buds will love the gourmet delights of our region.

For a stunning waterway views try a cruise on the beautiful Tamar River or discover the magic and beauty of the huge natural basin filled by the surging waters of the South Esk River. Close by are The Tasmanian Chairlift's, considered to be the longest single chairlift span in the world.

Finding Us

Launceston is about a 45-minute flight from Melbourne and 95 minutes from Sydney. A Courtesy Bus Services between the airport and Parklane Motel is available on arrangement.

In case you choose to sail across to Launceston, it would take you an overnight cruise to reach your destination. The cruise takes you through the Bass Strait sea road to Tasmania in the Spirit of Tasmania I and II cruises. The regular cruise starts from Port Melbourne, Victoria to Devonport, Tasmania all year round.

Finding us by car is straight forward. Entering from the Southern Outlet, one travels toward the City and turns right into Brisbane Street.....please remember we have a Mall in the middle...divert around and come back on to Brisbane Street. Parklane Motel is East opposite the City Park.
