Beachway Motel and Restaurant - Ulverstone Beachway Motel and Restaurant is a friendly family-owned accommodation ideally located in Ulverstone Tasmania. Beachway has undergone a major refurbishment over the past three years making it one of the most modern and attractive motels in Tasmania. The Beachway motel has 28 guest rooms with a range of accommodation to suit most tastes and budgets including a spacious self-contained apartment. The Motel is situated on 2 acres of landscaped gardens and we are only 150m from the beach. From October until Easter, an outdoor heated swimming pool and a spa are available for the use of our guests. All units are located on the ground floor and free parking is at the door to your motel unit. In April 2007, Beachway added a luxurious Self-Contained Apartment with 4.5 star rating to our accommodation mix. This is a modern roomy apartment with an open-plan lounge/Dining/Kitchen area, bathroom with separate shower and spa bath, laundry area, sun deck and private garden. The living area features air-conditioning, leather lounges, dining table and chairs, flat screen LCD TV, DVD/CD player and surround sound. The unit, including kitchen, bathroom and laundry, has been completely refurbished. The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. Cradle Mountain is less than 80 Km from Ulverstone - a pleasant and comfortable day trip during which you may also take in the beautiful area of Gunns Plains and the caves. Some say that these are the finest caves in Tasmania. Ulverstone offers pleasant walks, a beach, golf, bowls, sailing and a pleasant, laid-back life style.Ulverstone is a small rural town at the mouth of the Leven River on the north coast of Tasmania. Many parks along Ulverstone's coastline and beaches are a hub of activity in the summer months, with lifesaver patrols and a waterslide. There are cycleways and walkways through parklands and you will find Shopshire Park's footpath inscribed with Royal Australian Navy History. The War Memorial clock at the entrance to Ulverstone is a feature of the town. Further inland, the Gunns Plains Caves operate tours regularly where you will find an underground creek running through limestone caves. Or visit the Wings Wildlife Park, a short drive away. The Leven Canyon is well worth the visit with views of the spectacular 400 metre gorge. For some great bush walking explore some of the waterfalls in the area. Travel east from Ulverstone along the coast to Devonport, Latrobe, Deloraine, and Launceston and along the way do some chocolate, cheese, and honey tasting. Make a stop at Christmas Hills raspberry farm to feast on their delicious raspberries. Travel west of Ulverstone to Penguin, Burnie, Wynyard and Stanley. At Burnie you can do some malt whiskey tasting and visit the Creative Paper Mill which makes handmade paper. Stop at historic Stanley and its famous landmark, The Nut, which you can either climb or take the chairlift to the top to take in the magnificent views over Bass Strait and the surrounding farmlands. Beachway makes a great location from which to explore the north west of Tasmania.Traveling from Burnie towards Devonport: take the first or second exit to Ulverstone. Follow the signs into Ulverstone and continue along Main Road. At the traffic lights at Alexandra Road, turn left and continue along this street until you reach Heathcote Street near the scout hall. Turn right and the entrance to the motel is just a little way up the street on your left. Traveling from Devonport towards Burnie on the Bass Highway: take the first exit to Ulverstone. Follow the road under the highway, turn left at the roundabout and continue along Eastland Drive. Turn right at the fourth street on your right - Heathcote Street (look for the motel sign on the corner). The Beachway is at the bottom of this street on the corner of Alexandra Road. You'll see the entrance on your right. |
