Located on the beautiful Ovens River and nestled in the valley below Mount Buffalo, Bright is considered one of Victoria's most attractive mountain destinations. Each year in fall, the deciduous trees put on a breathtaking display of firey colour as trees shed leaves in preparation for the snows of winter. Our early settlers left this legacy by planting avenues of poplars and oaks. Today these are further enhanced by the gardens of local residents, which contribute to Bright's autumn splendour.

At any time of the year you can explore the Bright's many historic buildings and sites, which pay homage to our origins as a bustling gold rush town. Bright is also close to the Alpine National Park and just a short drive to the snowfields, at Mt Buffalo, Mt Hotham and Falls Creek.

Bright also celebrates with the Autumn Festival during April, Spring Festival during October, Alpine Valleys Gourmet Weekend in January and the ever popular Audax Alpine Classic during January, for cycling enthusiasts.
